** SECTION V, CLASS B AWARDS **


Ontario-Honda Section V, Class B Players of the Week:

Week 2 (defensive): Sam Stonerock - #29 (Senior) The 6’, 195-pound linebacker had six solo tackles and five assisted tackles. These included five tackles for losses as well as a sack in his team’s 49-0 win over Dansville. Despite playing only in the first half, he also scored four touchdowns (30-, two-, 82-, and 36-yards) on only six carries.

Week 3 (offensive): Dominic Scavo - #11 (Junior) a 6’1”, 205-pound quarterback was 11-for-12 passing good for 153 yards and two touchdowns as Hornell beat Livonia 41-7.

Week 7 (defensive): Sam Stonerock - #29 (Senior) The 6’, 195-pound linebacker had 14 tackles, seven of which were solo. He also had two sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in Hornell’s 42-8 win over Bath-Haverling.

Week 8 (offensive): Sam Stonerock - #29 (Senior) The 6’, 195-pound senior running back picked up 298 yards on 37 carries scoring five touchdowns (4-, 2-, 4-, 27- and 37-yards). Hornell beat Batavia 64-42.

Section V, Class B Defensive Player of the Year: Sam Stonerock, Senior (#29) - The 5’10”, 195-pound senior linebacker had 38 solo tackles, 35 assisted tackles, 10 sacks, one forced fumble, one recovered fumble and an interception as Hornell moved in the Section V Class B Championship Game. This despite the fact he only played one whole game all year, leaving four of eight games by half time during the regular season.
